The meeting was opened to visitors. All three visitors were attending to request a speed reduction to 30 mph on the Hornby Road near their homes. The exact location is from the first entrance to the Monterey Road to 5436 Hornby Road. There are school bus stops in that area also. Discussion was held. Residents were warned that even if their request is granted, people will still speed in that area.

RESOLUTION by Hale, seconded by Litz,
To request the Department of Transportation, pursuant to Section 1622.1 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, to establish a lower maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed on County Route 41/Hornby Road, a County Road between the 1st entrance to Monterey Road and 5436 Hornby Road.

The Councilmembers would like both laws to go on the ballot this November, however, more information is needed from the lawyer for the wording that goes on the ballot.

MOTION by Russell, seconded by Hale,
To set a special town board meeting on Monday July 20, 2026 at 4pm at the Hornby Town Hall to discuss and possibly approve two local laws: Games of Chance and changing the position of Superintendent of Highways to an appointed position, and also to deal with other town business as deemed necessary.
Vote: Eberlin – not present, Russell – aye, Litz – aye, Reed – not present, Hale – aye.

ADA compliance for the website was discussed. To make the documents ADA compliant, various things get modified in the documents, such as headings and bullet points. Columns cannot be used, so there are issues with converting the budget to be ADA compliant. The town clerk would like a disclaimer or something similar on the bottom of the webpage that states that the formats on many documents on the website will be different than the original documents located in the town clerk’s office due to being converted to be ADA compliant. The person creating the website suggested the town board discuss and if they agree, do a resolution with the wording. Discussion was held.

The grant for MFA tokens was briefly discussed. More information is needed before any decision can be made. This will be tabled until the August Town Board meeting.

MOTION by Hale, seconded by Litz,
to adjourn the meeting at 8:02 pm. No discussion was held.
Vote: Eberlin – not present, Russell – aye, Litz – aye, Reed – not present, Hale – aye.
